If not, let me spell it out. Pig loves mud. Pig gets to roll in fresh mud. Pig is very happy. They said yes. The engine, suspension and even the ergonomics are all standard, even the handlebar and handgrips. The new WP gear is seriously impressive for a stock machine and, thanks to the compression and rebound damping adjustment on the top of the fork legs, tuning this bike is easy.
One of the first things people do when they get a new bike is slip a pipe on it. I had a few moments where I caught the handlebar in the guts as the bike stalled and my body did not. So I was keen to stop this without spending big bucks on a new ignition or exhaust system. It took less than three days to unbolt the ECU, mail it to Rex for adjustment and get it back. The gains Rex found are huge!
My EXC-F feels twice as strong, but still has that mid-cap accuracy and balance. So just what does Rex do? This can be adjusted for race or trailriding situations. On a four-hour ride with the altered ECU my bike only bogged once.

I have spent a lot of time on these models this past year and I can tell you when the first production model hit the track, I was completely disheartened with the efficiency of the EFI System.
The mapping was so far off, the bike felt heavy with a lack of response. This should not be the case with these models being the lightest in the class and a new engine that produces great power.
With all that being said I reached out to the team at Twisted Development to see if they had the answer to getting the Husqvarna running like it should and more importantly getting the most out of a great motorcycle. The Twisted Development crew had two options for me. They spent an entire day on the dyno running my bike getting the very rough standard curve smoothed out.
We were not after more power, we were after efficiency and a lighter feel on the track. The Dyno chart speaks for its self, in the picture you can see the stock ECU is extremely rough where the Twisted Development tune was smooth and consistent on pump fuel. Once I hit the track I could tell right away this was how this bike was meant to run. It was extremely smooth and snappy in my hand making the Husgvarna so much more fun to ride. With the added response and lighter feel the overall experience riding the bike was improved.
After spending an entire day riding I could only wonder where this bike would have stacked up in the shoot out if this tune came standard. Email: Jellis TD-Racing. Happy to discuss my setup but the remap is a bit of a black hole topic as its a a dealer thing; you can't do it yourself. Sounds like you are already checking www. Talked to him extensively, nice dude and happy to help. I recall he said you don't need to do both the remap and TPS. I know he was headed out on vacation this week.
I also have FMF 4. Have not gone back to stock setup and put TPS back to. The bike runs good it's just not starting very well when cold and is having flame out issues right off idle.
But what does that actually mean? I'm just trying to find someone to show me the secret hand shake to get it done or provide me that introduction to someone who can help. On a side note, Brad Your shop manual should have the right numbers.
My bike was not starting easy. Use a really good multimeter. It made all the difference in the world.
Twisted Development 2019 Husqvarna/KTM 450 Mapping
Starts instantly all the time gotta use the "choke" when it's cold. The manual sez to let it idle for 5 minutes after changing these settings. I check these settings now and then. Usually the idle speed stays set but TPS will change. The setting will change just from tightening the screw. You can just send it to him. It worked great for me. Either the map change or the tuner will help make the bike run better. The EXC's are soooo lean from the factory.
After about hours it was getting hard to start and changing the settings didn't help. It was idling crummy too.

I took off the throttle body and the air bypass port was full of dirt. Cleaned it out and all was good again. KTM Talk has a lot on this. Thanks Jim. I've decided I'd like to go the remap route as I'm not getting consistent results in my case.Anyone know of a program to remap the and newer KTM's? Do they set it up for each bike based on your mods? The biggest difference I found with the Twisted maps are the response from the throttle and the progressive nature of the power. The way the power comes on much more instant and usable then stock.
Also the freeness of the engine off throttle makes the suspension feel much more plush. The plus of the Vortex are the options with the maps. They were able to give me 3 maps that are selectable with the map switch. On a side note, has anyone ran anything higher octane than pump gas in their ?
At compression I would think that there would be a noticeable difference. Especially with the clatter they make coming off idle. Pump gas is a joke. They run incredibly well on it to be fair, but even a quality octane booster makes a noticeable difference. My 17 crf is Now on a at I was thinking more or less mixing and premium pump gas. Every I've heard as a tiny bit of spark knock under load when coming off idle. The up 's have compression stock.

Even though direct map wasn't available for GW you can set the preferred tune with a trial and error method called by the company on road test. It virtually does everything a fuel controller is supposed to do and allegedly takes care of the stranglehold imposed by the oxygen sensor but I have no clue what it means.
